courage

Posted on Nov 27th, 2006 by jhalifax : none jhalifax
People talk about the courage of condemned men walking to the place of execution: sometimes it needs as much courage to walk with any kind of bearing towards another person's habitual misery.

(Graham Greene (1904-1991), British novelist. Heart of the Matter, bk. 1, pt. 1, ch. 2, sct. 3 (1948).)

roshi: this is what zazen is about, facing and liberating habitual misery!!!!!!!
walking with bearing also good
